We recorded his PRS’s through a 3 way guitar splitter to his Mesa/Boogie triple rectifier, a Vox ac15, and a small custom Modern Vintage amp. The cab for the Mesa has celestion vintage 30′s and the cab for the Modern Vintage had 25 watt Greenbacks.  We also used a Vox wah and Digitech Synth Wah for some of the smaller lead parts.

The initial recordings were done in Cubase 4. The multitrack session then had to be edited and consolidated (stay tuned for a tutorial on how to do this) for dumping into Pro Tools. Once done with transfer we started mixing the second song titled “waiting”. A heavy hitting rock song with great dynamics and crunchy guitars. Didn’t finish today but have tentatively scheduled for next week to complete the mix. Stay tuned…

Finishing up the mixes now in 2012. We recorded in 2011, so it’s been a year. Hi-hat leakage was a major problem but with digital editing, all is not lost. Using the awesomeness of SoundCloud to upload mixes so the band can hear ‘em. Gotta go…. more mixing to be done…..
